Fingerless mitts
A knit for a small amount of yarn. Quick, easy, a nice little gift for someone dear or for chariety. I used yarn from my own dyepot & wheel. It was great to make something useful out of last years fun. My mitts are for a medium ladies hands, but it’s piece of cake to adjust the size if necessary. Increase / reduce the number of sts/rows – remember that the result of garter sts is rather elastic.
Instructions:
Gauge: 25 sts and 50 rows = 10x10 cm. Don’t cry if your gauge is different – do a little math instead.
CO 40 sts using waste yarn in a different color. Knit 2 rows. The waste yarn will be removed later. (Provisional cast on 40 sts instead if you like that way better.) K 40 rows.

K 40 rows.
Remove the waste yarn and slip the sts onto a second needle. Work the two sets of sts together one way or another– graft or 3-needle-bind-off – your choice.
